Valley Way to 4,500ft : November 17th, 2007 An attempt at Madison in early season snow. I reached my turnaround time of 1pm at around 4,500ft, just short of Madison Spring Hut. Trailbreaking through 2-3 feet of snow above the tent site and leaving my lunch in the van also contributed to the decision.

Winter Overnight in the Pemi Wilderness : March 10th-11th, 2007 Ivy and I had hoped that by camping up off the Bondcliff trail we would be able to break the 23 mile round trip for all the Bonds into two manageable chunks. Once again the weather had other ideas. After a night of torrential rain the trail had turned to mush. The trip was over before it really got started.

Adams Attempt : February 3rd, 2007 An attempt of a winter ascent of Adams was thwarted by cold temps and -50 F wind chills. Amy got chilled and couldn;t get warm again so we quit after 2 miles of the ascent. Still great to be out in the woods in winter :)
